Women have been breaking barriers and shattering glass ceilings in the legal industry for decades. This Women's History Month, we celebrate the accomplishments of five outstanding women in the legal profession.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg -

The late Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a trailblazer in the legal profession, serving as a Supreme Court Justice from 1993 until her death in 2020. She was the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court and was known for her groundbreaking work on gender equality and women's rights.





Sonia Sotomayer
Sonia Sotomayer

Sonia Sotomayor -

Sonia Sotomayor is currently an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. She is the first Hispanic and Latina Justice on the Court and was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009. Before her appointment, she served as a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Kamala Harris -

Kamala Harris made history in 2020 when she was elected as the first woman, first Black woman, and first South Asian woman to be Vice President of the United States. Before her election, Harris served as Attorney General of California and United States Senator from California.

Sherrilyn Ifill is the President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. She is a civil rights lawyer and advocate and has worked on issues related to voting rights, police accountability, and education reform.

Kimberlé Crenshaw -

Kimberlé Crenshaw is a law professor at UCLA and Columbia Law School and is known for her work on critical race theory and intersectionality. She is the founder and executive director of the African American Policy Forum, which works to advance social justice and equality.






These women are just a few examples of the many outstanding women who have made significant contributions to the legal industry. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to justice have paved the way for future generations of women in the legal profession. As we celebrate Women's History Month, we honor their legacies and recognize the importance of continuing to support and empower women in the legal field.
